Email hello@bbdxlabs.com with AudioFlux in the subject. Include your Roku model, phone model, app versions, the selected input mode and what happened. A screenshot can help; hide your pairing PIN, QR code and other private information first. Never send passwords or pairing tokens.

What do I need?

For live sound, you need AudioFlux on a Roku, the native Android companion, and a local network that lets the devices communicate. Grant microphone permission when you want live input. The camera is optional: you can enter the TV's IP address and PIN instead of scanning its QR code.

The Roku's built-in Demo works without a phone. AudioFlux does not supply or play a music catalog, and it does not directly capture audio from Spotify, Apple Music, other phone apps or the Roku's TV output.

Pair your phone

1. Put the Roku and Android phone on the same trusted Wi-Fi network, then open AudioFlux on both.
2. Open the Roku's AudioFlux menu with OK or the star button, then open the companion pairing panel.
3. Scan the TV's QR code in the companion, or choose manual pairing and enter the IP address and PIN shown on the TV.
4. Select Companion as the input mode and start the microphone on your phone.

Pairing normally survives an app restart. Use Re-pair only when you want to replace the saved connection; creating a new PIN disconnects the previous phone.

Use Demo without music

In the Roku menu, change Input mode to Demo. It uses bundled analysis data, not the microphone, and plays no sound. Switch back to Companion whenever you want live audio. Changing input mode does not remove your pairing, and the choice is saved.

Remote controls

With the menu closed, Left / Right selects a visualizer and Up / Down changes its mode. OK or the star button opens the menu. The menu also provides input selection, presentation settings and visualizer customization. Back closes an open panel.

The visuals do not react to my music

Check that the Roku is on Companion input, the phone says it is listening, microphone permission is allowed, and the sound is audible near the phone. Raise the circular gain control gradually for quiet sound. If the phone reports clipping, reduce gain or move it farther from the speaker. Keep the companion in the foreground.

Some visualizers react more to bass, others to the waveform, frequency detail or attacks. Try Classic Bars when checking the signal. Microphone processing also varies by phone.

I stopped the mic, but the visuals continue

Demo runs independently of the phone microphone. Switch the Roku to Companion to use microphone start and stop. In Companion mode, Stop sends silence and the visualizers fade or settle; some keep a quiet baseline.

The phone cannot reach the Roku

Check the IP address shown inside AudioFlux, keep the Roku app open, and verify both devices are on the same network. Guest networks, client isolation and some VPN configurations can block direct connections. Use a trusted home network; do not open router ports or expose the Roku companion service to the internet.

Update without losing your setup

Update the existing app rather than uninstalling it. Pairing and preferences are designed to persist through normal restarts and updates. Resetting pairing, clearing app storage or restoring a device can require setup again.

Privacy and display comfort

See the privacy policy for microphone, camera and local-network details. Some visualizers use flashing lights and rapid movement. Pause or stop if uncomfortable, and avoid leaving a static image on screen for extended periods.
